Pataka Esports Festival was a one-of-a-kind event organized by Galint Gaming that combined the excitement of competitive gaming with the vibrant celebrations of Diwali. When I was asked to create the branding, I had only three days to deliver the full visual identity, as the announcement needed to be ready in time for Battle of BC 6. It was a fast turnaround, but the challenge pushed me to think creatively and work efficiently.
Since the event was Diwali-themed, I spent time researching the festival’s traditions and visual language. I decided to make the diya, a traditional oil lamp, the central mascot of the brand, as it perfectly symbolized light, celebration, and community. I also incorporated colors, lanterns, and mandalas inspired by Indian culture to give the visuals a festive and authentic feel. My goal was to create a brand that felt lively, welcoming, and cohesive across all platforms.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how well the branding translated across different assets. From menus to streaming overlays and promotional materials, everything maintained a consistent look and feel. Creating structured brand guidelines early on was key, as it allowed me to stay flexible and adapt quickly to last-minute graphic requests without losing the integrity of the brand.
Overall, this project was a great learning experience and a lot of fun. I loved the opportunity to work under pressure, experiment with cultural design elements, and see the festival come to life visually. It’s incredibly satisfying to look back and see how a concept created in just a few days could grow into a full, cohesive brand that enhanced the event experience for everyone involved.

Platfight Gaming Championships is a community-focused tournament series for platform fighting games. I helped out with social media graphics while also creating a separate branding for Platmasters, an invitational featuring some of the best players from different games.
Using the original Platfight branding as a base, I designed a crown to symbolize the best of the best, and added three diamonds arranged like a triangle as a nod to the classic three-platform stage layouts found in platform fighters, like Battlefield from Super Smash Bros.. I’m proud of how the branding kept the connection to Platfight while giving Platmasters its own identity, working well across social media and promotional materials.

I crafted a unique book-themed branding for the monthly local tournament, "Puffin Play," held at Book Club. Inspired by the venue and the native British Columbia bird, the tufted puffin, I designed a distinctive logo and branding assets. Showcasing my ability to create cohesive and thematic branding that resonates with the event's setting and the local culture.

The Gastown Grind is a quarterly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament featuring some of the best players in the region, hosted in Vancouver’s historic Gastown district. For the branding, I drew inspiration from the area’s steam clock and the surrounding streets, using a brick-inspired color palette and an ink-based illustration style that I drew myself.
