Run N Gun
Run N Gun is Vancouver’s fast-paced, “anything goes” indie film festival, known for its 48-hour filmmaking challenges and vibrant community. I had the unexpected but amazing opportunity to creative direct two projects and assist on another, helping shape the festival’s visual identity. Being part of the imagery for such a local iconic event was a huge honor, and I’m truly grateful for the chance to leave my mark on its bold, experimental aesthetic.
Run N Gun Festival 2024
indie film festival
[June 2024]
<branding, graphic design, illustration>
I developed the “Gala/Las Vegas” concept for the semifinals and finals, adapting it across the festival’s diverse themed screenings while maintaining cohesion with the main branding. It was a challenge to make everything feel unified, especially without being part of the directing process, but my illustrations became the visual centerpiece and were well-received by both staff and audience.
The festival filled the Orpheum and Rio theatres throughout the week and culminated in a packed after-party at Science World, making it one of the largest and most vibrant editions yet. I also designed a custom can label for a collaboration with a local brewery House of Funk, extending the festival’s energy into a tangible, memorable piece. Contributing to an event of this scale and seeing my work connect with such a wide audience was an unforgettable experience.
Run N Gun Redemption
film industry networking event
[April 2024]
<creative direction, branding, graphic design, production assets>
I creative directed the 2024 Run N Gun Redemption event, developing a 60s–70s psychedelic-inspired visual identity influenced by the branding, colors, and style of the classic show The Dating Game. The event served as a networking night for filmmakers, a re-screening of past submissions, and the official opening to the main festival. I carried this playful, retro aesthetic across all visuals, creating a cohesive, vibrant experience that celebrated the festival’s history while energizing its creative community.
Sh*ts n Giggles
indie film festival
[November 2023]
<creative direction, branding, graphic design, production assets>
Sh*ts N Giggles is a 24-hour film festival featuring lower-budget, experimental films. For the 2023 Halloween edition, I had my first project with the team and was tasked with creative directing the entire branding. I focused on a sketchy, rough aesthetic, designing a logo inspired by punk band collage art and working closely with a talented illustrator. Having full creative control, we built a cohesive brand that was highly praised and well-loved, especially in comparison to the previous year’s visuals. This project was an incredible opportunity to define the festival’s edgy, playful identity from the ground up.
